There has been a somewhat odd event in the Reserve. Numerous images captured by a photographer shed fresh light on interactions and behaviors between wild animals of the same and different species. A lion pride may be seen in these photos.
The gang stops as a lioness notices a cub lying in the middle of the path. The fox is in awful condition. Unexpectedly, the lioness’ maternal instincts take over and she resolves to save the little, defenseless fox.
She stands close to the fox and orders her pups not to annoy him. The other troop members, however, disagree with this decision. Soon after, a lion questions the lioness about this odd arrangement.
He just doesn’t see why she would protect such a basic item. But the noble lioness keeps her word to protect the baby fox at all costs, even if it means standing up to her own family.
The lion finally gives in to the lioness’ demands, and the fox is allowed to go with him. After some while, the fox makes an attempt to rise up and heads back toward his home.
