The bride had the “slowest walk down the aisle in history” because she had her pet turtle the ring bearer for her wedding.

Veterinarians Elina and Jay first met while researching turtles twenty years ago. This choice led to the wedding bands being given to Toas, their pet turtle.

As Tomas made his approach to the altar, the bride and groom scattered strawberries, one of his favorite foods. Tomas typically consumes hay and other dry foods because he is used to live in the desert.

But because he also like strawberries, we decided the best way to persuade him to go down the aisle would be to serve him this fruit. Elina elaborated. Tomas moved extremely slowly but expertly while toting the rings in a flower basket that was fastened to his shell.

The one thing we were all worried about as Tomas was walking down the aisle was the fact that some of the women had painted their toenails. Elina said, “I think he did a terrific job and we are happy with the result.

All of the guests were captivated by the slow-moving yet endearing carrier of the rings. They asked Elina to show them as many images of Tomas, who had captured their hearts, as she could the day after the wedding.
