Toward the end of January, an animal rescue group received a report of a dog lying by the side of the road. The dog remained still, making no move to rise up. The service personnel noticed a fluffy red dog close to her. He sat for hours waiting for help, staring at passing cars and refusing to go.
The dog was in severe condition, according to the lifeguard who responded to the call. She was gasping for oxygen and writhing in agony. Faith was worried about the dog’s chances of survival. When the rescuers tried to get the dog into the car, her dog guardian pursued her, not wanting to quit his companion for even a second.
He sat down and rested his head on the huge stomach of the dog. At the veterinary clinic where they were brought, the dogs were x-rayed. Doctors discovered a lot of broken bones as well as an unexpected bonus: eleven puppies ready for adoption. A few days later, the dog gave birth to a child.
Despite the constant discomfort in her paws, she tried to give the puppies the best care she could, and the dog was usually around. The dog needed almost two years to heal. Thanks to the foster family’s care and the help of doctors, the dog was able to fully recover.
