A photographer captures a spectacular moment when hummingbird wings transform into rainbows, a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence that makes them all the more valuable.

When a man was sitting on his porch, enjoying the day, he noticed something spectacular! The tiniest tiny things appear to be a rainbow when sunrises contact a hummingbird’s wings (while in flight).

He was studying a black hummingbird when he noticed the strange appearance. This is known as the prism effect, and human eyes are unlikely to see it. He’s been drawn to these rainbow gems for a long time, and some of his hummingbird pictures were featured in a short film in 2011.

It was a big success, according to its reputation (it won 10 international awards including that of the best film). It’s his first time seeing the incredible prism effect.

Years later, he returned to photograph it once more. «I wanted to film the same phenomenon with my camera,» the photographer stated.

«Light diffraction over the wings of this one-of-a-kind hummingbird is the only distinctive process at work here.» It is, nevertheless, undoubtedly a natural secret that our eyes cannot see. Take a look at more of his gorgeous photos by scrolling down!
