On their boat, sailors spotted a litter of kittens and cared for them for four days at sea.

These sailors discovered six newborn kittens on board, whose mother had abandoned them in the nets shortly after their birth. The infants were washed and placed in a fresh fish tank. The sailors were unable to return to port because they lacked the necessary resources to care for the kittens.

The angler called an animal rescue organization to see what could be done to save the kittens. They put warm water in the box and kept an eye on the children’s temperature, as advised by specialists. There were no baby bottles or formula on the ship.

After examining the vessel, the sailors discovered the only object suitable for feeding – a little plastic bottle. When the shelter advised them that they couldn’t give the kittens ordinary milk, they were diluted with a light sugar syrup mixed with water.

One of the sailors rinsed the bottle well and began giving the foundlings glucose every hour. Four days later, the kittens were still alive.

The crew was relieved to be able to leave the kittens in the capable hands of volunteers when it was time to return to land. Unfortunately, four of the six kittens died. The litter’s remaining two puppies are still alive. A sailor has already expressed his wish to adopt one cat if chance is on his side.
