Students sent sweet words to shelter animals in the hopes of persuading people to adopt them, and it succeeded.

To persuade people to adopt dogs, students sought to write from the perspective of dogs. Without the help of anybody else, they composed lovely stories and drew animal illustrations.

‘I used to constantly encircle myself with as many animals as I could get away with when I was a kid.’ I recall admiring and playing with my neighbor’s tiny goat, which they named after me when I was three years old. I used to be the proud owner of a large number of domestic animals when I was younger.

‘I had to rescue and save a lot of animals.’ The teacher explains, “I tried everything I could to persuade my parents to let me cuddle a cat born in a neighbor’s driveway.”

She tried out the concept by bringing a shelter dog to a class. The kids enjoyed it and were able to figure out how the safe home functioned. They were motivated to do the fictitious chores.

‘As a teacher, I often tell my students stories about my pets.’

I’ve also given them varied responsibilities. I frequently show an image of one of my animals when I illustrate modifiers. The kids write about them in vivid language. Following that, we convert these representations into sentences.

The pupils worked on their paper nonstop. They attracted excellent outlines to go along with their writing. By the conclusion of the week, we had seen a lot of dogs adopted!
