This horrible occurrence occurred in a little Altai community. A intoxicated mother abandoned her infant on an unheated porch, dressed in shabby home clothes, with no food or water. She had vanished. The infant was saved by the neighbor’s dog, who kept him warm for two days.
Fortunately, a concerned neighbor saw the entire scene and alerted rescuers. The infant survived despite hypothermia. And it wasn’t until the fourth day that his “mother” reappeared.
She was stripped of her parental rights and sentenced to 3.5 years in a prison colony as a consequence.
