UPS driver went above and above, pausing his deliveries to save a puppy drowning in frigid cold seas

Ryan Arens, a UPS driver, was delivering items just before Christmas.

He was startled to hear a dog whining. She didn’t simply complain; she yelled and wailed uncontrollably. He changed his course after delivering the box and went in the direction of the voice. He had to navigate his way around a vast pond. He noticed the sad animal on the opposite side. An ice trap had ensnared the dog. In an adjacent boat, an old guy was sailing.

He tried all he could to save the dog, but he couldn’t get close enough. Arens understood exactly what he needed to do right now. “I stripped off my clothing and requested this man to get off the boat.” Then I hauled the boat onto the ice, distributing my weight with it. This was necessary in order for me to get there where the ice was thin.” Soon, he was pushing the boat up to the ice’s thinnest point. Then he had to climb out of the boat and plunge into the freezing water. According to Arens, the dog “began to go beneath the ice.”

As a result, he swam after her without pausing to ponder. The dog’s collar was grabbed by the postman. She didn’t fight back. He then attempted to drag her up onto the thicker ice. However, things did not turn out to be so straightforward. They could drown if the ice breaks.

When the dog understood the guy was helping her, she attempted to crawl as well. So, together, they slid back to the beach, first on thin ice, then on firmer ice, where the dog’s owner offered the gentleman a blanket so he wouldn’t catch a cold.

“Animals are my downfall. As a result, I will remember this episode for the rest of my 14-year UPS career,” Arens remarked. That’s not all, though. The dog’s owner and Arens didn’t even have time to exchange phone numbers because everything happened so rapidly. However, the postman had to deliver the package again the other day. Consider that the addressee is the rescued dog’s owner. Furthermore, when he presented the box to Sadie, the lucky woman with the long tail, he was in the car. And when she saw him, she began to exhibit her excitement in such a terrible manner that it appeared she was going insane.
