A kind guy finds a dog stranded in a 20-foot hole and goes to help.

Ty McIntyre was getting home from work in late May when he noticed a dog that had fallen into a deep hole. The filthy dog was sitting at the bottom of a 20-foot ditch, staring the guy down as if pleading with him to stop and save him. With all his desire, Ty would not have been able to pull the dog out with his bare hands.

He couldn’t, however, leave the unfortunate person to die. For assistance, the guy appealed to Facebook users. He recounted the scenario and sent a photo of the dog in the hopes of locating its owner. Ty immediately phoned the stray animal control department and requested that they come to the location.

A rescue squad and many firefighters came shortly after; without their ladder, bringing the animal to the top would have been extremely impossible. The experts operated fast and properly, and the poor dog was rescued shortly after. Despite his ordeal, he looked to be in good health, merely slightly dehydrated.

The dog’s owner was also located thanks to social media, and he rushed to take the critter home. It’s still unclear how the dog got so far away from his home and into a pit. Maybe he was so thrilled to be out for a stroll that he forgot to be cautious and didn’t detect the trap in the ground. Ty’s compassion and charity did not go unnoticed.

The Animal Control Service publicly hailed the owner for his generosity, posting a story about the dog’s rescue on their Facebook page. Ty does not consider himself a hero – after all, what is a few hours in the life and death when it refers to a living being?
