A photograph of a weasel cub riding a woodpecker soars high in the sky has been shared on the internet.

What you are about to see is not a picture, but a creation of the human mind.

This is not a Photoshopped image, but rather a real-life scenario. You can see how a weasel flies beside a genuine woodpecker in the photo.

Martin Le-May, an English amateur photographer, took the shot at one of London’s parks. However, contrary to popular belief, we will not be telling you about a beautiful bond between a weasel and a bird today.

Everything is much more mundane now — one of our heroes may become another’s meal. Weasels may appear to be amusing hairy creatures, but they are actually nest-busters.

They will consume not just eggs and defenseless chicks, but also fully grown birds if required.

Something went wrong this time, and the predatory animal was physically taken out of the nest by the bird. According to the photographer, he planned to show his wife the woodpecker that day, therefore the camera was already set to snap pictures throughout the stroll.

The woodpecker appeared out of nowhere, landing approximately 25 meters away from the pair.

Weasel became frightened of people and bolted into the grass, while the woodpecker went about his job. We’re curious if there will ever be another chance to view such a unique and unusual occurrence, much alone record it on video.

Let’s hope that’s the case.
