Rescue Labrador retriever assisted his owner in raising seven motherless kittens for adoption.

In the United Kingdom, a Labrador became a nanny for seven abandoned kittens. He looks after them gently and compassionately, helps them socialize, and teaches them how to look for themselves.

The one-year-old Labrador was rescued and adopted after being a stray dog. Perhaps this is why he became a gentle and kind instructor for children. Seven newborns were discovered abandoned by the side of the road. Rachel, Bertie’s owner and Battersea’s chief nurse, consented to take the kittens home.

Bertie, a rescued and nourished former shelter dog, resided with her.

“Seeing a rescued pet now assisting in the rescue of other animals in need is extremely emotional,” Rachel remarked. Bertie looked after the kittens, taught them how to care for themselves, and entertained the infants. The shelter worker expressed her admiration for her dog’s thoughtfulness. The kittens were cared after by Rachel and Bertie until they were able to eat and use the litter box on their own.

The kittens were returned to the Battersea Shelter when they were a little more independent. They were adopted by loving family. “It was difficult to see them leave, but I can take comfort in knowing that Bertie and I were able to provide them with the finest possible start in life,” Rachel said. Maybe Bertie is deep down enjoying the peace and quiet that has reigned in the flat since the 7 boisterous kittens left, the nurse joked.
