Because he’d never been inside before, the rescue dog struggled to enter his foster home.

Boomer, a pit bull, is distrustful of strangers.

The dog was terrified and refused to cross the threshold when he was rescued from the shelter.

As a result, the new owners had to struggle for the pet’s confidence. Boomer had cardiac troubles and an unhealed leg fracture, according to the veterinarian. The dog also had scars from previous gunshot wounds. It’s hardly unexpected that he become fearful of people and trust after that.

Furthermore, the new owners feel that the dog is fearful of entering the home since he was previously severely punished for doing so.

Boomer was one of four stray dogs who lived among people and were employed as “target practice” dogs. Samantha Zimmer, who opted to take the four-legged to her house, changed the four-legged fate.  He first refused to follow the woman, so she had to entice him by offering him a gift.

Boomer refused to leave his cage and cross the threshold in his new home.

“It was evident that he was not allowed to enter the house, yet he wanted to,” Samantha Zimmer said. Samantha spent a month trying to persuade Boomer that she was not an adversary and that he could trust her. This aided the dog in crossing the threshold. He now enjoys not just running about the house quietly, but also lying on the sofa with his new family.
