When Ida Floreak noticed that a homeless black cat named Salami was about to give birth to kittens, she began to pay her visits to the woman more frequently.
As a result, the animal has taken up residence in Floreak’s home. When Salami noticed that the owner’s cat was frequently strolling in the backyard, she started visiting to Ida Floreak’s house.
“She seemed to enjoy him a lot,” the artist, who resides in New Orleans, said. “They sniffed each other. It was evident that Salami was more interested in the cat than she was.” It was obvious that she had come to meet him, and it appeared to be really nice.”
Ida started feeding the black cat, and she soon began to come at her door every morning, meowing. And, despite her need to eat, the cat initially rubbed on Ida’s legs before moving on to the meal.
After that, Salami developed a stomach pain. Floreak started treating her and making sure she was vaccinated.
The woman soon realized the cat was expecting a child. The animal began to play with Floreak and spend much more time with her.
Salami arrived earlier than usual one morning; it was barely 5 a.m., and she was already on the threshold. At the same time, she was meowing incessantly, which was unusual for her. The woman let her in, and she started giving delivery at 9 a.m. By putting old blankets in the corridor, Floreak was able to establish a space for the birth of cat progeny.
Salami gave birth to two kittens first. Floreak believed the procedure had come to a conclusion since she appeared satisfied.
The black cat, however, went into labor again throughout the night. Floreak was scared and used Zoom to call her friends for assistance. She had never experienced something like this before and didn’t know what to do.
However, everything went smoothly, and Salami gave birth to two additional kittens in a safe manner. Floreak has already found homes for all four kittens, ensuring that they are in safe hands. Ida chose to keep Salami since there were no other alternatives after they had gone through this period together.
