Kindness is what makes the world go round, and even the smallest act of kindness may make a big difference and brighten someone’s day.
A woman working as a waitress at a fast food restaurant shared a beautiful story that serves as a reminder that doing good may make a difference in the lives of those receiving it.
One day, while on the job, she saw that the lady sitting at the restaurant had forgotten her handbag. It was a Louis Vuitton, and the waitress expected the lady to return for it, but when she didn’t, she took it to lost and found.
The waitress didn’t open the purse and had no idea what was inside.
Over a month had gone and no one had claimed the purse, so the restaurant’s management asked the waitress if she wanted it because she clearly liked it.
The waitress agreed, and when she opened it, she was utterly stunned. The purse was empty save for one piece of paper with a handwritten message that said, “To the girl who needed a new purse during the holidays.” There was even a receipt for it. It cost $1,700, which was more than the waitress could afford for such an item.
She was aware that the lady’s visit to the restaurant was designed to improve her day.
The waitress carefully packed all of her possessions into the bag, which served as more than simply a fashion piece and boosted her confidence. She brought her purse to every job interview, and even now, when she can afford one, she preserves the Louis Vuitton as a reminder of her history and the compassion she received; generosity that resulted in positive progress and altered her life for the better.
