It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frank Ifield, a renowned musician who was instrumental in the growth of the famed Beatles. Frank, 86, passed away peacefully while sleeping on Saturday, according to a close friend.
Frank Ifield was born in the United Kingdom and reared in Australia before returning to his home country in 1959. He quickly captured the hearts of the British audience and rose to prominence. His chart-topping singles “I Remember You,” “Lovesick Blues,” “The Wayward Wind,” and “Confessin’ That I Love You” propelled him to number one in the United Kingdom.
Frank Ifield’s musical career began at the age of 13, when he was given a guitar as a present. With pure tenacity and a passion for creativity, he taught himself to play the instrument and started writing his own songs. It was during this period that he discovered his love of yodelling and country music, which would become synonymous with his distinct style.
In his pursuit of fame, Ifield poured his heart and energy into his work, creating an incredible 44 albums in just six years. His unwavering dedication and raw skill earned him the title of best-selling recording artist in Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania.
