The renowned blue parrot from the film “Rio” has vanished.

According to a new research, at least eight bird species have vanished in recent years. The blue parrot, made famous by the film «Rio», is one of them.

Parrots battled to survive in a successful animated film as Blue flew from America to Brazil in search of Joel, the only female of its type. In a happy ending narrative, the two fall in love and have a kid. These parrots, however, did not survive in the real world.

The study discovered that while the majority of bird extinctions occurred on isolated islands, the most recent occurred in South America. Deforestation has increased dramatically in the area, which has had an effect. Approximately 187 birds have vanished from the planet since 1500, according to the Red List of Endangered Species. According to study, the introduction of alien species, hunting, and deforestation are all factors contributing to the fast reduction.

The massive development of metropolitan areas and global warming are placing a lot of strain on wildlife today, forcing many creatures to adapt or perish.

The blue parrots, which had brilliant blue feathers, have been declared extinct in the wild. Some instances, however, are kept in captivity.
