Squirrels were adopted by this kind-hearted cat.

We’ve already shared a few heartwarming stories of animals who adopt children from different species. This time, a cat became a proud squirrel mother.

People generally visit the Bakhchisarai Historical and Cultural Park of Miniatures to see the exhibition «Crimea in miniature in the palm of your hand», which has 1:25 scale miniatures of Crimean sites. However, their zoo has suddenly become the center of attention.

The zoo is tiny, with animals such as piglets, goats, chickens, and peacocks living there. The workers was chopping down old trees one day when they discovered tiny squirrels abandoned by their mother in one of them.

The staff were stumped as to what to do with them when one of them got the brilliant idea of showing them to Murka, a cat. There was a chance she might take them because she was a nursing mother.

And she succeeded! Squirrels matured quickly and started playing with kittens. Murka became a household name as a result of this story. Visitors flocked to the park in droves. People were now forming lines to see the sweet cat and her children.

Viktor Zhilenko, the park’s director, guaranteed that the squirrels would be cared for by personnel and would most likely remain in the park. What wonderful news!
