When a woman goes to the shelter’s Facebook page, she discovers her long-lost cat from two years ago.

Jimmy the cat had to stray away from his family for three years until they were reunited thanks to the social networking platform Facebook. Jimmy’s owner, Sue Zelitzky, claims that their cat has always been naughty.

He enjoyed going out without being asked and wandering the paths until one day he did not return.

“Jimmy usually came home,” Sue adds, “but he didn’t that night.” Jimmy turned 13 in the fall of 2014.

The family looked for their cat everywhere, questioned friends, and posted leaflets all over the area, but Jimmy was nowhere to be found. For a long time, Zelitsky refused to accept the truth that they had lost their beloved pet for good, but the realities were too painful to ignore, and time is short. Sue was scrolling through her Facebook account almost three years after the tragedy when she came across a post from the Milford Animal Shelter about a stray cat that had been picked up on the street.

Jimmy looked just like the cat in the photo. After exchanging notes under the post, it was evident that this was her long-lost Jimmy. Sue drove straight to the shelter, accompanied by her neighbor, whom Jimmy adored.

The woman quickly understood who was in front of her as she took a closer look at the animal.

“Jim, is that you?” I inquired of the cat. And he approached me, nudging me with his head. “That’s when I began weeping,” Sue recounts.

Jimmy, who is almost 16 years old, is glad to be back at home. Everyone recognized the cat and was happy to see.
