Daniel Eden has always had a soft spot for stray animals who have been abandoned or are in pain. Daniel has visited comparable facilities all across the world as the creator of Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary.
Hundreds of animals were saved from dangerous and horrible conditions and given a second chance at life at her own animal refuge. Animals in trouble that needed to be saved were nothing new to the woman. But she had not expected to be as taken aback as she was at one of the next shelters she visited. It happened while she was in Israel. Every dog at this shelter was in desperate need of assistance and rescue.
“It was the most awful kennel I’d ever seen.”
“More than 250 animals resided in an area that could only hold 70 dogs.” Rats scurried throughout the room. The animals had to battle tooth and nail for every piece of bread thrown out.”
“Dead rats mingled with live rats, and in the midst of all this uproar, there were dogs in need of assistance.” Eden was speechless after witnessing all of this. She couldn’t decide which of the dogs to rescue from this horrible situation because they were all in desperate need of treatment.
Then Eden made the choice to buy the whole shelter’s 250 dogs. She has successfully kept 90 animals in Israel since then, with another 25 being delivered to shelters in Ontario. A total of 150 canines are still available for adoption. However, since Eden’s arrival, the awful Israeli shelter has begun to change and things are becoming better. The staff was in charge of preparing the kennel for animal living, as well as providing enough nutrition and competent veterinary care.
By the way, half animals placed in various kennels, are adopted.
