Grizzly 399, a 24-year-old predator, has spent her whole life in Grand Teton National Park (northwestern Wyoming, USA).
She gave birth to four babies at once at the start of the year, setting a new record for a wild animal. With 17 kids, the bear mother became one of the most productive female bears.
The latest litter, which had four cubs, is also regarded exceptional, considering bear moms only have two to three cubs at a time. “At her age, we weren’t sure she’d ever have cubs again.” Because grizzlies only live for 25 to 30 years. Nonetheless, the old bear, who walks around the reserve with her youngsters, refuses to let anybody near her cubs and proves to everyone that she is no joke,” local photographers Kate and Adam Rice said of the bear family.
According to the staff of the park, the bear mother demonstrates wisdom and lives with her cubs in places where tourists often walk. Grizzly 399 has long been a celebrity in the Grand Teton National Park. Plus recently the bear family can be seen driving past the park.
Grand Teton National Park, which borders the world-famous Yellowstone National Park in the north, is home to about 750 grizzly bears.
