A very uncommon white newborn deer was just discovered, and it appears to be something out of a storybook.

Recently, 24-year-old photographer Mads Nordsveen stumbled found a rare white fawn while traveling in Norway.

He was trying to find a beautiful place to take a shoot when this creature appeared.  The fawn was completely white and virtually undetectable against the snowy backdrop.

The newborn deer did not flee or hide, but instead approached the camera and even posed for a few photos.

The baby’s mother emerged from the jungle a few minutes after the surprise encounter, but he took a few steps around the photographer before returning to his mother.

“It was a truly amazing moment,” Mads remarked, “as if it came straight out of a Christmas fairy tale.”

White reindeer have a rare genetic abnormality that causes them to lose their black color, allowing them to blend in with their snowy environment.

They have black patches around their eyes and on their horns, unlike albinos.

This isn’t the first time Mads has had to deal with dangerous creatures. He came into a lynx and a pack of wolves while going across Norway.

He appears to have a kind demeanor, since the animals are good for photography.
