This cat shelter’s rescued dog looks after all of the kittens and has reared over 60 of them.

Raylan’s owner set up a sanctuary in her home for homeless and abandoned kittens. She treats and feeds the newborns before looking for a new home for them.

Her devoted dog lends a hand in this great endeavor. Either because he was once of no use to anybody, or because he was formerly of no use to anyone. Raylan feels sorry for the kittens and becomes not just a friend but also a caring father to them.

An abandoned dog wound up at a shelter that euthanizes animals that no one wanted to adopt nine years ago.

One of them was the puppy. Visitors to the center avoided him because he had too much energy. Raylan was placed on a euthanasia waiting list, but fate shone on him when his present owner picked the puppy for him. Raylan raised more than 60 abandoned or orphaned kittens throughout his time with her.

He provides them with the affection and attention that they lacked from their own parents.

The dog assumed the roles of both mom and dad, licking the kittens, playing with them, and teaching them proper behavior. “When I brought home my first kitten, Watson, six years ago, I discovered that my dog adores cats. Raylan was three years old at the time, according to the dog’s owner. He started playing with the infant right away, and he was quite kind and patient with him. Watson now lives next door to us, and he and Raylan have become great friends.”

Raylan’s owner set up an Instagram account for him, which has over 20,000 followers. The woman shares images and videos of her dogs on social media. They all receive thousands of likes and excellent feedback.

When it comes time to send the kittens away, Raylan takes a well-earned break for a few weeks. But then the dog becomes depressed.

And you won’t find a happiest dog in the home when fresh kittens arrive.

“The day the new kitten arrives is his personal vacation!” explains Raylan’s owner.
