Marley, a 7-year-old Labrador dog, saved his owner’s life when he intervened during a rattlesnake assault.

A brave Labrador Retriever saved his owner from a rattlesnake attack. The dog was bitten by the snake at the same time.

The Labrador’s owner was afraid of losing his best friend. Alex Loredo tells how his dog Marley helped him save his life.

The young man stepped out onto his San Diego home’s patio. The man left the house to go to the washing room, which is separate from the house. He immediately heard a rumbling under the table outside. A rattlesnake was lurking nearby, ready to strike.

“It was incredibly loud,” Alex says.

The student, on the other hand, had little time to focus when the Labrador Retriever sprang from the home and positioned himself between his owner and the snake.

“All of a sudden, my heart fell. “Oh my, I’m going to lose my closest friend,” the guy expresses his concern. Marley was bitten twice by the rattlesnake, once on the mouth and once on the neck. Alex and his mother rushed the dog to the vet right away. The pet owners were not optimistic that it would live. Marley was fortunate: he was able to come home after many doses of antidote and two days in the hospital. The dog is virtually back to normal after two weeks and is playing again, though he still needs therapy.
