They Capture The Spectacular Moment When A Cheetah Family Crosses A Crocodile-Infested River

Nature offers us one-of-a-kind and amazing experiences. Fortunately for us, some of them are documented on video by those who have the opportunity to see them. When professional photographers Arnfinn Johansen and Buddhilini De Soyza found themselves in front of a swarm of cats poised to cross the river, that’s precisely what occurred.

Even though wildlife photographers work in some of the most dangerous environments, the stunning photos they capture make for a very rewarding job.

Arnfinn Johansen and Buddhilini De Soyza spent days exploring Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Park and captured some incredible photographs.

These photographers were able to catch a family of five cheetahs that had been following them for days and had finally emerged from the dense undergrowth.

Seeing such a large family of these creatures is uncommon, but it was what these animals did that left these photographers, as well as millions of other social media users, stunned.

Fortunately for us, Arnfinn and Buddhilini were working in an African sanctuary and were able to capture the cats as they gathered to cross a torrential river that had been overwhelmed by heavy rains.

The river was exceedingly hazardous, not only because of the strong current but also because crocodiles were waiting for their food and looked at the cats as if it were a lovely home-cooked dinner.

“They hunt on both banks of the Talek River, so it’s no wonder they wanted to cross.” “Normally, they would do it by walking on stones,” Arnfinn explained, “but this year it rained for a long time, and because of the water, it was incredibly difficult for them.”

Photographer Arnfinn reported he had been watching the five cheetahs for a long period.

“They’d been walking down the river for a long time, looking for a way to get to the other side, but the high current made it extremely dangerous.” “Also, that river is home to the Nile crocodile,” Arnfinn said.

When these monsters appeared out of nowhere in front of them, ready to do something crazy, these photographers couldn’t believe their eyes. They had been after these creatures for days with no luck until they emerged in front of them, ready to do something crazy.

The cheetahs barely had time to prepare their glasses before plunging into the water.

“First, the cheetah leader plunged into the river, followed by two more,” Arnfinn recounted, “while the two tiniest cheetahs in the group stopped for a few minutes before joining them.”

“Everyone in the herd swam as fast as they could.” Arnfinn said, “It was evident they didn’t like it.”
